MinorityFI Recommended Books
Usually when I first meet someone and they learn somehow that I like talking about money, one of the first questions they ask is which book would I recommend for them to start with.
It’s hard to recommend just one book because I’m not sure where they really are on their journey and some books might be a little technical and turn them off while others might be too simplistic for them if they’ve already mastered the basics such as budgeting, Mint or Personal Capital.
This is a list of a few books that I’ve found really helpful on my Journey in no particular order. A person may click through and find which one appeals the most.
Any of these books can be a starter book depending on your level of interest.
Before I read this book I had no clue what an index fund was. I always thought stocks were too complicated for me to get involved with them because I had no clue what I was doing and no experience trading. I’m Glad I was way wrong and The Simple Path to Wealth cleared away all my Misconceptions. I’m happy to say that I’m very much on the Simple Path to Wealth.

Rich Dad Poor Dad is the first book that I read that talked about money and made me understand what it was. Reading this book made me want to get out of the Rat Race and pursue some lofty goals. The education I received from this book was unparallel to any others at that time in my life.
